In Williamstown, Kentucky, you’ll find the Ark Encounter, a “life-size” creationist museum showcasing all the creatures that supposedly boarded Noah’s Ark, including dinosaurs. With remarkable access to the park before its grand opening, the filmmakers delve into the broader framework of the creationist movement, unraveling the various elements that have led the museum to present its narratives as historical truths. They also highlight the efforts of those striving to correct the scientific misconceptions. In the midst of a culture of science denial and a powerful, well-funded organization, three Kentuckians—a local geologist, a former creationist, and an atheist activist—struggle to counter the movement gaining traction in their state.
