Survivorman

“Survivorman” is a television series produced in Canada, originally aired on the Outdoor Life Network and later shown internationally on the Discovery Channel and Science Channel. The series ran for three seasons and included four special episodes in the years 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2012.

The show is named after its host, Les Stroud, a Canadian filmmaker and survival expert. Stroud demonstrated his survival techniques and expertise by enduring up to ten days in isolated locations, where he filmed his experiences without the aid of a production crew, carrying minimal supplies such as food, water, or gear. As detailed on the show’s website, each site was carefully selected and planned in advance by Stroud and his team, who collaborated with survival experts and local inhabitants to ensure authenticity. The emphasis on Stroud’s solitary survival without a crew is a central theme of the series.
