A father who has recently lost his wife decides to leave his position as a well-known columnist for a leading Sydney newspaper. On a whim, he purchases a house online in a secluded coastal town in New Zealand. He must then inform his two teenage children, who are already dealing with the loss of their mother, that they are moving to an unfamiliar place, adding to their uncertainty about the future. However, the vibrant and curious residents of the town make sure that his vision of starting anew doesn’t unfold as expected.
