Laura Collins, portrayed by Shannen Doherty, is a single mother raising her daughter, Sarah, played by Matreya Scarrwener. Having experienced a series of tumultuous relationships herself, Laura is initially delighted when Sarah starts dating the charming and well-liked Rob Tennison, played by Callan Potter. However, as Rob’s controlling and sinister nature becomes more apparent, Laura struggles to accept the reality of her daughter’s situation. Her denial persists until Sarah mysteriously disappears. Faced with this crisis, Laura must summon the strength to seek justice for her daughter, as the case against Rob unfolds in court under the watchful eye of a formidable judge, portrayed by Mira Sorvino.
