During the peak of Brazil’s military dictatorship in the early 1970s, the Paiva family—comprising Rubens, Eunice, and their five children—reside in a welcoming beachside home in Rio de Janeiro, frequently visited by friends. One day, Rubens is summoned for interrogation and never comes back.
