Heather is a lively and carefree individual whose self-centered fiancé, Roger, never seems to pay attention to anything she says. Meanwhile, Bobby, a naval officer, returns from his overseas service, eager to embark on a new phase in his life. Both Heather and Bobby yearn to find someone who makes them feel truly at home in the world, but they are beginning to doubt such a person exists.
